Hear what our clients have to say about Horsemen's Western Dressage

The first time I used one of Rubens bosals was several years ago at one of his clinics where he persuaded me to try one out on my horse.  The positive results were immediate.  After a year or so of using this bosal I began to pursue conventional dressage and sold it to help raise funds for a dressage saddle.  About a year after that we began acquiring more horses and I tried to buy the bosal back from the person I sold it to.  She would not sell it back to me because she loved it so much.  So I contacted Ruben and ordered another one.  Since that time I have convinced two or three friends to buy one of these bosals and each of these friends will now use nothing else when they ride their horse.

Over the years I have experimented with different snaffle bits and compared my horses response to Ruben's bosal.  I have used everything from a dressage headstall to a western headstall with slobber straps both with single and a very expensive double jointed snaffle.  I have even tried a contraption marketed by a internationally famous clinician.  In each case I have come back to Ruben's bosal for all my riding needs, except for conventional dressage where a bit is a requirement.  But if I could ride a dressage test in Ruben's bosal I would.

If I do my part, every horse (and it has been many) I have tried this bosal on responds immediately in a positive manner and they learn much more quickly.  Knowing how to apply and (more importantly) when to release the pressure is important no matter what kind of headstall one uses, and that is equally true with this bosal.  However, the advancement with my horses has been greatly accelerated by the use of this tool.

My wife is now starting a filly and has pretty much appropriated my bosal for her use.  As a result I have been using the double jointed snaffle on a western headstall with slobbler straps the last few weeks.  At first I was amazed at how sluggish my horse was responding to my cues and thought it would get better with time.  Well, it hasn't really improved much.  Understand, this is a horse that normally stops with just my seat.  But the bit seemed to act as a distraction for him, especially with the slobber straps banging around.  That is why today I am giving my bosal to my wife and I am ordering another one for me.

Sincerely,
Jim Brannon
